CAPRA is looking for existing CAPRA volunteers to further their involvement by serving on one of three committees:

  1. CAPRA Standards Committee
  2. CAPRA Volunteer Committee
  3. CAPRA Training Committee

The CAPRA Volunteer Committee establishes processes for recruitment, assignment, evaluation, and management of volunteers to support the mission of the CAPRA Commission.  Interested applicants should have experience with volunteer management, human resources, or organization management.

The CAPRA Training Committee produces, implements, and evaluates training to support the needs of the CAPRA Commission and processes for agencies, CAPRA Review Team Advisors, CAPRA Review Team Leads, CAPRA Review Team Members, CAPRA Mentors, and Commissioners for the betterment of the process.  Interested applicants should have experience with training development, adult learning, or information management.

The CAPRA Standards Committee reviews the CAPRA standards and provides recommendations to ensure the relevance of best practices are updated as the industry changes.  Interested applicants should have experience with organization, management best practices, continuous improvement, and technical writing desired


Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with CAPRA and the accreditation process, including 2+ years’ experience as a former CAPRA Commissioner; CAPRA Review Team Advisor, Lead or Team Member; or CAPRA Mentor
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE) credentials


Commitment:

  • Attend bi-monthly meetings (via Zoom)
  • Approximately 24-40 hours of time commitment outside of regularly scheduled meetings each year.
  • Term is three years -- may be renewed once

Service on a CAPRA Committee each year can be submitted for 2 Professional Service Experience (PSE) points.

All applicants will be updated regarding their application status by November 30.
