Do you have a passion for education and are you interested in making an impact on the NRPA Annual Conference? Applications to serve on the 2022 Conference Program Committee are now being accepted!

The NRPA Conference Program Committee is a dedicated group of professionals from around the country, representing all regions, specialties, and content areas. They work diligently each year to recruit, review, and select education sessions for the annual conference. This committee is known for its hard work and the friendships that develop through participation, and afford professional and personal enrichment for everyone involved.

If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please review the duties and responsibilities and complete the application, including your resume.

To be considered for the committee, applications must be submitted by Sunday, June 27, 2021.


Duties and Responsibilities Overview 

 
The information below provides a brief overview of the committee members’ duties and responsibilities while serving on the committee.

  1. Primary Responsibilities:
    • Partner with other subject matter experts to represent a particular topic area(s)
    • Promote NRPA Conference Call for Proposals and inform appropriate professional and NRPA network(s) how to submit session proposals.
    • Assist appropriate professional and NRPA network(s) in developing proposals based on key and current industry needs
    • Provide feedback and experience regarding speakers, topics, trends, and other nuances of program selection.
    • Participate in the process of reviewing, rating, and selecting education sessions for the program. Note: this process may take approximately 30-50 hours.
    • Follow up with speakers (as assigned) to assess preparedness and work with the speakers to achieve the best result (i.e., coaching on content, ensuring presentation meets minimum criteria for a successful presentation, etc.)
  2. Program Committee Member Deliverables:
    • Solicit a minimum of five session proposals by the proposal submission deadline.
    • Rate all program proposals by the deadline.
    • Attend the Fall and Winter Meetings (required)
    • Visit each assigned session at conference at least 15 minutes before the presentation to ensure speaker arrival and start of session.

In return for your commitment and deliverables, committee members receive a complimentary full registration package for the annual conference. Members must be a full participant in the responsibilities listed above to qualify for this benefit.


Requirements

  1. Must be a current member of NRPA.
  2. Must fully commit the hours required to serve on the committee for the extent of the 3 year term selected for, unless otherwise noted.
  3. Must commit to attending the in-person Fall Meeting (during the annual conference) and the Winter Meeting (February-March timeframe).*

*NOTE: Travel expenses to these two meetings will not be provided by NRPA and will need to be covered by the member.
