Description:

The Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification Committee Acts as the oversight body for the implementation of the AFO certification program. Committee members provide updates to the NRPA National Certification Board (NCB) including policy and procedure changes.  Additional responsibilities include providing judgment on certification appeals, analysis of the AFO certification program, and review of AFO testing practices.

Please review the minimum requirements listed below to be sure you are eligible to apply before proceeding with this application (the following requirements do not apply to student representatives).

  • Five years, full-time experience in aquatic facility operation or related area
  • A current AFO certification with NRPA
  • Maintenance of an AFO certification for a minimum of 3 years
  • Preferred – Bachelors Degree in Parks and Recreation (or related field)

Not a current member of the AFO Examination Committee (you may apply once your term on the Exam Committee has ended).
