The CPRE Exam Committee oversees and participates directly in the development and maintenance of the Certified Park and Recreation Executive examination in cooperation with the professional testing company under contract with NRPA. Please contact the NRPA Certification Manager for details at

- Develop examination questions.
- Monitor and evaluate test statistics.
- Modify and improve test questions.
- Advise of any concerns and issues related to the administration of the exam.
- Evaluate reliability and validity of the exam in conjunction with the professional testing company.
- Manage other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Five years, full-time experience in the Parks and Recreation field
- Must maintain a current CPRE certification
- Must have maintained a CPRE certification for a minimum of 3 years (1 certification cycle)
Commitment:
- Attend a two-day meeting (via Zoom) -- typically in October or November each year
- Attend meetings (via Zoom) during the year to conduct business -- typically no more than one
- Committee members are not to miss more than two meetings during the three-year term
- Term is three years -- can be renewed
Service on the Exam Committee each year can be submitted for 2 Professional Service Experience (PSE) points which is equivalent to 0.2 CEUs.
*CPRE Renewal for Exam Committee members*Exam Committee members should renew their CPRE certification by earning CEUs and completing the normal renewal process. It is extremely important that Exam Committee members do not let their certification expire. Since Exam Committee members have extra knowledge about the exam, they would have to wait at least two years following the expiration of their exam committee term before they can sit for the exam.
