Scott is a seasoned Parks and Recreation Professional with 38 years of experience, currently serving as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Hartford, Vermont. Originally from the Midwest, Scott's career began in Kingman, Kansas before his journey led him to New England.
With a passion for Special Event Programming and Facility Development, Scott has been actively involved in capital fundraising campaigns and the planning and implementation of various improvement projects. His portfolio includes fundraising campaigns, playground and park developments, experience with design and construction management of a multipurpose community center, outdoor aquatic facility and various park improvement projects. Scott thoroughly enjoys supporting and implementing special event programming and has done so in all of the 4 communities that he has served. Throughout his career, Scott has successfully managed diverse facilities, including community recreation centers, outdoor aquatic facilities, an outdoor sports complex, and an indoor ice arena. He brings a wealth of experience to the field, showcasing his dedication and expertise in managing a park and recreation agency. Scott has successfully been a part of three (3) CAPRA re-accreditations for Hartford Parks & Recreation and was the lead for the last two (2).
Scott is not only a past president but also an active member of the Vermont Recreation and Park Association, has served as a member and President of the New England Park Association, and New Hampshire Park and Recreation Association.
