Michael is passionate about supporting, cultivating and celebrating passionate Parks & Recreation professionals! At NRPA, Michael is responsible for all volunteer opportunities and the national awards program including Parks and Recreation 30 Under 30, Spotlight Awards, Innovation Awards, and Scholarship & Fellowships. Michael previously worked 18 years in the field of parks and recreation for several St. Louis area municipalities as well as the St. Louis County Parks system. He served as the Chair for NRPA's Young Professional Network (YPN) in 2019-20 after serving on various committees for the network. Michael has also served in several capacities with the Missouri Park & Recreation Association (MPRA) including founding the state's Young Professional Section in 2018. When not at work, Michael enjoys spending time with his two children, manipulating Excel spreadsheets and sharing good craft beer.
